The 4th Sunday of Lent is known as "Laetare" (Rejoice)  Sunday, from the words in the Introit of the Mass.  In this world it is not always easy, but we are called to rejoice with confidence in the promise that was given to us by our Savior. The brothers will celebrate Vespers of Laetare Sunday at St. John of the Cross in Lemon Grove. Come and join us!

After the wondrous Ascension of Our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ, the 11 remaining Apostles chose St. Matthias to replace Judas the traitor. According to tradition, he went on to preach the Gospel in Asia Minor, where he found martyrdom. Come to St. Charles Borromeo in Imperial Beach for the Traditional Latin Mass sung in Gregorian chant to celebrate St. Matthias.

Join us this coming Sunday for Votive Vespers of the Epiphany at St. John of the Cross Church in Lemon Grove. Fr. Navarra will celebrate the solemn ceremonies with two assistants in cope. Polyphony to include Magnificat Primi Toni by Cristobal de Morales (1545), polyphonic antiphon "Tribus Miraculis" by Luca Marenzio (1590), motet "Ecce Advenit" by Heinrich Isaac, and Marian antiphon "Alma Redemptoris Mater" by Francisco Guerero (1575).
