Organ Summer Concert Photos 2023

A special thank you to Alison Luedecke for inviting us and various musical confrères to sing at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion this past Sunday! After the concert and Fratellino's brief presentation on Madame Schumann-Heink to a small group, some of the Murrieta members paid a visit to the International Houses right across the street from the Pavilion. We also extend our thanks to Father Richard Kramer, the Director of Vocations for the Ordinariate seminary in Houston, for supporting us in the audience.

We were not expecting to sing it again so soon, but this Sunday, September 10, Chorus Breviarii will be joining the choir from Holy Martyrs Catholic Church as well as our operatic associates for the singing of the Pilgrims' Chorus from the finale of Richard Wagner's opera Tannhäuser. Come join us at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in the afternoon for our appearance at Balboa Park's weekly free concert.

Photos from Ramona Carols 2022

The Brothers and Chorus Breviarii helped to inaugurate the Nativity Scene at the Town Hall in the mountain town of Ramona, CA through the singing of modern, ancient, and medieval Christmas tunes in joyful anticipation of the coming season. Highway 78 was closed for the town's Christmas Festival, which included vendors and many photo-ops with decorated hotrods and festive tractor trailers. Our carols started soon after the town's Christmas tree lighting the next block over. 

For all of us, it was our first time attending this event, and we hope to attend more events like it in the future. While we have caroled in the recent past for a private event, bringing religiously-significant carols to the public sphere is a humbling opportunity for us to spread Christ to a secular world. Paraphrasing Fratellino, it was an experimental first time out, and we will grow it in the future.
