News of a Newly Ordained Alumnus

Fr Jared McCambridge F.S.S.P. (2nd from right in photo), who was ordianed on 30th May by Cardinal Castrillón in Lincoln Nebraska, will offer a Solemn High Mass at Mother Angelica's Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, AL on 1 July 2008 at 7:00 a.m. CDT, which will be broadcast live on EWTN “Daily Mass Live.”

In early 2001 Fr McCambridge was a congregant of Holy Cross Chapel TLM congregation, and was one of the original five members of the Chorus Breviarii San Diego Gregorian Chant Schola in February of that year, while still discerning his vocation. Today there are both Chorus Breviarii members and those who have gone on to become Oratorian Seculars as well, who have direct personal memories of their interactions with Father, and even in our form as Brothers of the Little Oratory we have always held him to remain a part of our scholae and community in absentia.

It was difficult losing him from our Oratorian family, but while Fr. McCambridge was becomming a priest, Chorus Breviarii was becomming the Brothers of the Little Oratory in San Diego. With the admission of six new brothers this past January, it was gratifying to sense that while Father was persuing his vocation, we were slowly but surely persuing ours, and achieving a much desired and highly constructive result. Very different, yet both aimed at glorifying God and building up his Church on earth.

Seeing Father McCambridge celebrate mass, even through the television, will be a cause of rejoicing in San Diego. Tu es sacerdos in aeternum. Deo Gratias
