Mass in the Extraordinary Form
for the VI Feria after the III Sunday of Lent
Collect at St. Mary Rutunda
Station at St. Lawrence at Lucina
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Harry Neely, O.S.A.
Donations will benefit St. Augustine Monastery
During each day of Lent, the Pope would address the faithful at a certain church and then lead them in procession to the station church, where he would celebrate Mass (St. Lawrence in Lucina, for the Friday after the 3rd Sunday of Lent). The collect (literally, gathering) was at St. Mary in Rutunda (better known as the Pantheon), and the name "collect" is still used today to indicate the prayer said by the priest at the beginning of Mass.
If you cannot walk through the streets of Rome on Friday, come to St. Augustine's monastery and hear the Traditional Latin Mass sung in Gregorian chant, in the quiet atmosphere of the chapel. Translational booklets will be provided.
