America's Finest City is named after a XV century Franciscan lay-brother, Didacus  (Diego in Spanish) of Alcalá, who was known during his life time for his great, piety,  love for the destitute, and for several miracles, which continued also after his death.  Come to St John the Cross in Lemon Grove on Sunday and to Immaculate Conception in Old Town on Monday to experience respectively sung Vespers and Traditional Latin Mass for the feast of our patron saint.
