Pope St. Pius V was a luminous example of the Catholic Reformation. Among his numerous accomplishments, he organized the Holy League, the coalition that defeated the Ottoman Turks in the Battle of Lepanto, and guaranteed the use in perpetuity of the same missal that will be used to celebrate the Mass on his feast day.
