Because this year May 26 fell on a Sunday, we could not celebrate the feast day of our holy patron, St. Philip Neri. Therefore we honor him belatedly with a votive sung Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral. We are grateful to the pastor, Fr. Navarra, for his hospitality and to Fr. Dorsa, the celebrant, for his generosity. The music will include  Missa Brevis by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Ave Virgo Sanctissima by Francisco Guerrero. O Sacrum Convivium by Giovanni Croce, Ave Maria by T.L. de Victoria, and Salve Regina by Francesco Soriano. The Brothers will sing the Gregorian proper and serve at the altar.

20th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination Mass for Fr. James Bahash

Last week being quiet a busy one, it is a belated pleasure to now share photographs of the 20th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination mass for Fr. James Bahash, at St. John the Evangelist in Encinitas, Ca. It was an honor for the Brothers and Chrous Breviarii San Diego members, to be asked to sing, on Tuesday last, the mass "Os Justi" on that feast of St. William of Vercelli, Abbot, along with Mass VI "Rex Genitor." Father chose to celebrate the mass in the Extraordinary form, and hundreds of his parish turned out in support. The Brothers are most grateful for our relationship with Fr. Bahash and his outstanding parish, and we look forward to being of assistance to them in the future. Ecce sacerdos magnus. Laus Deo!
