Sung Votive Mass of St. Philip Neri
in the Traditional Roman Rite
Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Anthony Dorsa, F.S.S.P.
Because this year May 26 fell on a Sunday, we could not celebrate the feast day of our holy patron, St. Philip Neri. Therefore we honor him belatedly with a votive sung Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral. We are grateful to the pastor, Fr. Navarra, for his hospitality and to Fr. Dorsa, the celebrant, for his generosity. The music will include Missa Brevis by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Ave Virgo Sanctissima by Francisco Guerrero. O Sacrum Convivium by Giovanni Croce, Ave Maria by T.L. de Victoria, and Salve Regina by Francesco Soriano. The Brothers will sing the Gregorian proper and serve at the altar.
